And
you shall love your neigbhour as you love yourself? This is the
golden rule! Yes, we have to focus on loving our neigbour but it's suppose
to be an offshoot of loving yourself. Before you gun me down, just know
that what you don't have you cannot give! If I don't know how to love
me, I will have a lot of trouble in loving you.
Can I submit
this to you that a lot of pastors cannot function effectively because
they don't trully love what they see or where they are - and the 'performance
related' environment they are in is not also helping.
Learn to
release what you love on your 'unlovable' church image. if you are not
happy with what you see, I suggest that you change it!
But
how can you change it?
First,
go look for what you love. Find the right image you love. Cut
out the adverts or logo. Find the church that looks like what you love
and go an literally pack their materials (brochures, flyers etc).
Secondly,
surround yourself with what you love. Paste it on your walls,
in your car and definitely on your lips.
Thirdly,
work on changing what you don't like. Don't compromise on it,
there is a cheap and effective way of rebranding your church and you
will love it!
Remember
you don't have to bear it, you can change it.
